Sales Manager – Based on either Waiheke Island or in Henderson, Auckland.

Cable Bay Vineyards is a premium boutique wine company on Waiheke Island, New Zealand.

We have estate-owned vineyards in two of New Zealand’s most exciting wine appellations; Waiheke Island and the Awatere Valley, Marlborough. We follow sustainable winegrowing practises in all of our vineyards, and are currently in conversion to organics in some. We are passionate about producing premium wines that are expressive of the site upon which they are grown.

The winery is located amongst our vineyards on Waiheke Island, with elegant surroundings and stunning views over the Hauraki Gulf. The venue includes two restaurants, a bar and private dining rooms. We have our own organic vegetable gardens, orchard, bees and laying hens, all of which provide produce for our restaurants.

At present we export our wines to the US, the UK, Japan and China.

An outline of your role

We are seeking an experienced Sales Manager to drive our existing distribution network and work to set up new distribution partners off shore. Reporting to the Managing Director, this is an opportunity to develop and implement the sales strategy. Working with the Managing Director and a close-knit team you will be providing company leadership around b2b and b2c sales.

The role will emcompass the following:

  • Forecasting & budgeting for the sales function
  • Setting and adhering to ambitious revenue targets based on growth both domestically and internationally
  • Regular reporting to the Managing Director to ensure production efficiencies
  • Providing leadership of wine sales across a small and close-knit team

This is a rare opportunity for an experienced and passionate wine sales professional to work autonomously for a super-premium wine brand. You will enjoy the scope to set your own strategy and getting exposure across all facets of a small business. Must be a self-starter willing to work autonomously and have strong ambition to grow the business.

Experience in key account or stratigic sales within wine, or the wider liquor industry, with an understanding of distribution management. An understanding of the export market preferred.
