We are seeking Psychiatry Registrars to join our team to make a quota of Registrars from December 2017.
Whangarei is part of the Psychiatry Training Programme. Whangarei has had considerable success in providing comprehensive training to Registrars enabling them to qualify as Psychiatrists. The Whangarei psychiatry program offers runs in acute adult psychiatry, community adult psychiatry, Māori Mental health, child and youth mental health, liaison psychiatry and psychiatry for older adults.
There is excellent Consultant support and access to regular local teaching and participation in teaching through the Northern Region training scheme.
Northland DHB bases RMOs at Whangarei Hospital. This is a secondary base hospital providing a wide range of services including ED, medical specialties, ICU, ENT, O&G, Paediatrics and Psychiatry.
