School of Art, College of Creative Arts
The College of Creative Arts at Massey University is a world-class art and design school based in Wellington, New Zealand with a legacy of 130 years of creative education. The College is comprised of the School of Design Nga Pae Mahutonga, the School of Art Whiti o Rehua, including the Maori Visual Arts programme located in Palmerston North, and the School of Music and Creative Media Production Te Rewa o Puanga.
In 1995 Massey University was the first University to offer a Bachelors degree in Maori Visual Arts. Since then the programme has grown to include postgraduate study up to PhD level. It has fostered a generation of Maori artists who lead the world in their particular fields, and made a huge contribution to the landscape of contemporary Maori art in Aotearoa New Zealand.
The College of Creative Arts is seeking applications for a Poutanaunaki- Administrator, Student Support, within Toioho Ki Apiti, Manawatu Campus.
The successful candidate will ensure a meaningful learning experience for students by fostering a positive relationship between the student and the University, pro-actively supporting student engagement, exercising manaakitanga and providing administrative support for the Maori Visual Arts programme.
The ideal candidate will have a relevant tertiary qualification or industry experience within the Maori Arts sector. They will have an understanding and knowledge of MÄori culture and values and the ability to apply them appropriately when engaging with MÄori communities and individuals.
